We are pleased to announce that Paul Verhoeff, Principal, Verhoeff Group of Companies, Vancouver, BC, will be speaking at the ELO Forum Vancouver at the Paradox Hotel (Nov 13).
Paul Verhoeff is a seasoned entrepreneur with a history of founding and leading successful ventures, primarily within the travel, construction, and hospitality sectors. He is a Principal at Verhoeff Group of Companies (VGC), which has founded, established, acquired, and invested in several businesses, including Advance Flooring, now Orange Room Services.
In 2010, VGC founded Canwest Flooring, a commercial flooring company. Canwest Flooring operates throughout Western Canada, and specializes in property refurbishment, hospitality, commercial and multi-unit projects.
In 2015, VGC developed Trading Post Brewing Corporation, a craft brewery and eateries in the Langley area. Trading Post has been successful in brewing award winning craft beer, and features “our beer and our food” at its historical Fort Langley and new Abbotsford eateries.
In 2020, VGC approached husband-wife duo Rudy Verhoeff & Kyla Richey to start up their next project — a winery. Recently retired from professional and national team volleyball, the pair set out to bring a mindset of creating community over food and wine to their new business. ‘Valley Commons’ pays tribute to the two valleys: the Okanagan and the Fraser that are home to the vineyards and winery with the tag line of “Where We Gather” front and centre of the brand.
In 2021, VGC acquired Stoneboat Pinot House, a heritage winery just off the prestigious Black Sage Road in the South Okanagan. It’s home vineyard, coined ‘The Gravelbar’ is an area of unique, extremely rocky subsoils that produce some of the best Pinot Noir's in the Okanagan. Boasting some of the oldest vines in the Valley, Stoneboat is best known for its amazing Pinot varietals and family-like hospitality.
Paul is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and social impact. He has served for several years on the Board for Opportunity International Canada, which provides microfinance, training, and support to entrepreneurs in developing countries.
