10 Reasons to Attend the ELO Forums This Year!

This year’s ELO Forums are coming up soon:

Winnipeg — October 23

Vancouver — November 13

Toronto — December 4

The ELO Forums, with a track record stretching back to 2005, are the premier conferences for Christian marketplace and entrepreneurial leaders. Why? Here are the top ten reasons people say that they attend the ELO Forum, and the reasons you should too!

  1. Continual Leadership Development – One participant, a non-profit leader, said that the Forums are his annual leadership development for his team—to learn from top-notch presenters. He expressed, “We have changed what we do as an organization because of what we have learned at the Forums.”
  2. Unbelievable Speakers – Our objective is to continually bring new and insightful speakers. We get people who don’t often speak in public. Typically, they are business leaders who share their stories. Regarding last year’s Winnipeg Forum, one ELO supporter recently said that being able to listen to brothers Mark and Steve Chipman (owners of the Winnipeg Jets) was amazing.
  3. Well Executed – Every year we have people say, “I appreciate how well-managed the conference was. The speakers were well-organized, and everything stayed on schedule.” We strive to have well-curated events.
  4. Interactive – People appreciate the opportunity to interact live and in person with speakers in various ways. This is through Q&A sessions that are a part of most presentations and group discussions at the various breaks.
  5. Connectedness – Attendees comment on how they can meet other business leaders from outside their immediate circle. The Christian business community is distributed and not connected, other than through family and church relationships. The Forums bring together leaders who may live near each other, but would otherwise never meet.
  6. Practical Takeaways – One feature of the Forums is the emphasis on take-aways from each session. All speakers focus on practicality; identifying important issues faced by attendees and then providing tools to respond accordingly.
  7. New Business Partnerships/Relationships – We have heard countless times over now an almost 20-year period that various important relationships started at the Forums. This ranges from business partnerships, support of non-profit organizations, and people getting hired or hiring others.
  8. Renewed Enthusiasm – Attendees get convicted again about their calling to make a positive difference in the marketplace. At the end of the Forum, attendees are generally reinvigorated to face the challenges and opportunities of the marketplace.
  9. Positivity – Attendees get a glimpse into the positive things that Christian leaders are doing in the marketplace, which are typically not highlighted elsewhere. ELO often acknowledges people via the “Entrepreneurial Leaders Award,” which has been presented to people such as leadership guru John Maxwell, Pat Williams of the Orlando Magic, and Canadian hockey icon Paul Henderson.
  10. Big-Picture Thinking – Attendees get exposed to the issues and opportunities beyond their immediate community. They hear speakers from around the world and learn about what is happening across Canada and elsewhere. For example, attendees typically get insights from Europe, North America, Asia, and Latin America.
