Diana Montoya, Executive Director, ASODENIC
Nicaragua
About the Presenter
Diana Mercedes Montoya Garcia is the strong, dynamic leader and Executive Director of ASODENIC, Opportunity International Canada’s implementing partner in Nicaragua which received its first loan from OIC in 1998. The founding Executive Director, Juan Ulloa, was a remarkable individual lovingly known as the Dean of Microfinance across Latin America. Sadly, we lost Juan to COVID-19 in June 2020. Diana was mentored by Juan throughout her decades long employment at ASODENIC where she served in numerous positions before working her way up to the Leadership team. This year, Diana successfully returned ASODENIC to its history of growth and outreach after several years of challenges including the pandemic and a government requirement to modify their status from an NGO to a formal financial institution for the poor. Her story and journey is one of trials and triumph and we are eager to introduce her to you.
About the Presentation
Topic: "Entrepreneurial Leadership for Non-Profit Organizations"
Non-profit organizations need to maintain an entrepreneurial mindset in order to survive and thrive. That’s not easy. Learn how entrepreneurial leadership can help a nonprofit organization maximize its missional impact. Further, business leaders and entrepreneurs are more inclined to support organizations that align with their values. This session will be of interest both to supporters of NPOs who will develop greater clarity regarding the types of organizations they may wish to support and to leaders of NPOs who will be able to reflect on best practices for running their organizations.
