Post-Event Report: Winnipeg 2024
This year's ELO Forum Winnipeg on October 23, 2024, at The Fort Garry Hotel attracted Christian marketplace and entrepreneurial leaders from all over Manitoba and throughout Canada. The ELO Forum continues to be the single most important event each year for the Manitoba Christian leadership community.
The ELO Forums are one-day events with a focus on Christian business leadership, bringing people together to connect and network with other like-minded leaders, and interact with a world-class roster of speakers.
The ELO Forum Winnipeg was supported by a wide range of businesses and nonprofit organizations in Manitoba and throughout Canada (listed below).
ELO dates back to 2005 when Dr. Richard (Rick) J. Goossen, Chairman, ELO Network, organized the first conference. Since then, we have grown to host about 100 events and conferences across the globe, thanks to our network of speakers, sponsors, advisors, and supporters.
This is just some of the great feedback we received from attendees at this year's conference in Winnipeg:
This year, we had an amazing lineup of seven presenters:
In the morning, we started off with a presentation by Dale Lutz, Co-Founder, Safe Software, Surrey, BC, on "All I Really Need to Know in Business I Learned at ELO Conferences."
We also heard from Daniel Whitehead, CEO, Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries, Vancouver, BC, on "A Christian Perspective on Mental Health & Building A Flourishing Culture," as well as Paul Fast, Founder & Partner, Fast + Epp, Vancouver, BC on "Design Trails: Innovation & Creativity from the Olympics to China."
After a great lunch hour of food and conversation, the next speaker was Jacqueline (Jackie) Dinsmore, Co-managing Partner, Caravel Law, Toronto, ON on "Legal Trailblazer & Serial Entrepreneur: Lessons on How To Grow A Business."
Following Jackie was Bruno Dyck, Professor of Business, Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. He spoke on "The Gospel of Luke: 1st Century Insights for 21st Century Business Leaders," followed by a Q&A with Rick Goossen.
We also heard a Q&A with guest speakers from Honduras: Francisco Banegas, CEO, IDH Microfinanceria, and his translator and business partner, Victor Funes, Manager of Business, IDH Microfinanceria, on "From Vision to Venture: Empowering Emerging Entrepreneurs to Build a Better Future."
The conference closed with a Q&A session on "The Callings of Business & Ministry: One or the Other?" with Geoff Otten, President, Otter Valley Concrete, and Vice-President, Philanthropy, Cardus.
It was another successful even in Winnipeg and we look forward to coming back next year! Attendees left with a renewed sense of purpose and built relationships with our exceptional speakers and other guests. Speakers left the crowd equipped and inspired.
